Chivas Regal presents Latin Jazz USA Concert 2006.
On Thursday, October 19th, at 8P.M. at the prestigious Town Hall Theater, located at 123 West 43rd Street, in the Times Square area in Manhattan.
Chivas Regal is proud presenter of Latin Jazz USA Concert 2006, a Chivas Life event showcasing the talent and passion Latinos have for this
genre of music and life.
In its 17th year, under the artistic direction of Ivan Acosta; noted Latin Jazz musicologist and world-renowned documentary film-maker on the subject, Latin Jazz USA, will be presenting
this memorable concert.
Latin Jazz USA Concert 2006 will be featuring: The rhythmic, harmonic and melodic joy of Oscar Castro-Neves, the magic flute of Dave Valentine, the legendary Afro Cuban Jazz percussionist Candido Camero, from Yerba Buena, Xiomara, the essential voice of Cuba, the Colombian piano Master Hector Martignon, Top guitarist, bolero, son and Latin jazz, vocalist David Oquendo, the percussions of Samuel Torres, Alex Garcia’s AfroMantra, Colombian pianist and arranger, Jose Gallegos, Edmar Castañeda and his vibrant jazz harp, all, under the musical direction of Maestro, Edy Martinez and his Latin jazz
orchestra of 18 musicians.
Chivas Regal recognizes the Latin talent – art and music are expressions that connect all generations and clearly show how much Latinos enjoy tradition and diversity. The Latin Jazz Concert is part
of The Chivas Life.
This year’s event will also provide the ideal set up to present The Latin Jazz USA “Chico O’Farrill” Lifetime Achievement Awards to selected Latin Jazz musicians and personalities, that their excellent work have contributed to preserve and expose the musical and cultural values of the Latin Jazz musical genre in the United States and the world.

Latin Jazz USA presents, Candido – Hands of Fire. The concert.

“60 Years of Afro Cuban Jazz”.
By popular demand! The legendary Afro Cuban jazz percussionist Candido Camero, (celebrating his 85th birthday and his 60th anniversary playing in the United States) returns to Miami to offer an
extraordinary concert.
In its 17th year, under the artistic direction of Ivan Acosta; noted Latin Jazz musicologist and world-renowned documentary film-maker on the subject, Latin Jazz USA, will be presenting
this memorable concert.
On Saturday, November 4th, at 8pm, the audience at the Olympia Theater at Gusman Center for the Performing Arts*, in downtown Miami, will witness a unique historical event. The Cuban percussionist, Candido Camero, will make everybody vibrate when he plays his three congas, accompanied by Maestro, German Pifferrer’s The Miami Latin Jazz Noneto. With special guest artists, Xiomara Laugart, the essential voice of Cuba, The amazing guitarist & vocalist, David Oquendo. The ex-Irakere, lead saxophonist, Manuel Varela. The award winning, composer and guitarist, Juanito Marquez. The incredible trumpet of Adalberto Lara, “Trompetica”, amongst others. Viviam Lopez, one of the stars from WDNA 89.3 FM Radio will be the M.C. of the night.
